The immersive two-night experience, which first opened in March of last year, launched guests into their own Star Wars story. Disney announced the news of the closure last week, stating that the experience will complete its final voyages on September 28-30.

“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our Guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment,” the company said in a statement Thursday. “This premium experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our Guests and fans.”
While impressive, the Starcruiser was also known to be one of the highest priced experiences in Disney World, with a lofty price tag of $5,000 and up. A stay came with lightsaber training, interactions and missions with beloved characters and themed space food in addition to other entertainment.
While reservations for the final voyage between Sept. 28 and 30 are completely sold out, new bookings for the remaining days are currently on hold until May 26. Passengers who had booked past the closing date had the opportunity to rebook their stay, most likely selecting the final days.
Not too long ago, Disney began canceling voyages that had few bookings and even offered discounts to Disney Vacation Club members and Cast Members for stays. Although it’s safe to say that those discounts will no longer apply when bookings resume, according to WDW News Today.
