On July 26 and 27, the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora will host Ellos Gritan Libertad (They Scream Freedom), a powerful cinematic exploration of the Cuban people's struggle for freedom. This award-winning documentary captures the recent surge of protests in Cuba, where citizens demand freedom amidst oppression, food shortages, and deteriorating infrastructure. The film offers a crucial platform for Cubans to voice their struggles despite government efforts to silence them, highlighting their urgent call for Patria y Vida (Homeland and Life).
The film's premiere on July 26 will be followed by a reception, and another screening will take place on July 27. Following each screening, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion with the film's narrator, director Melinda Raebyne, and Grammy-winning music producer Jorge Gomez.
