The House of Harlow founder turns 42 on Thursday, but she kicked off her birthday celebrations a little early as she partied with some of her closest friends — many of whom she happens to share a star sign with.
Rachel Zoe, Cameron Diaz, Sofia Richie Grainge and author Cleo Wade were among the stars who Nicole celebrated with, according to a series of snaps shared by Zoe on her Instagram Story Friday.
“#VirgoFest was real and I love you @nicolerichie @cleowade,” Zoe, 52, wrote as she shared a group photo of herself, Diaz, Wade, Sofia and Nicole blowing out candles on a Virgo-themed birthday cake. Baby2Baby’s Kelly Sawyer and stylist Liat Baruch also joined in on the fun, as the group of women all wore headbands that said “Virgo Queen” in honor of their shared star sign.
“That was fun ???????????? hence the blurry ????,” Zoe wrote of the celebration, which also featured an elaborate birthday cake with a photo of Nicole and Wade on it.
Though the majority of the ladies’ birthdays have already passed — Sofia turned 25 on Aug. 24, Diaz turned 51 on Aug. 30 and Zoe turned 52 on Sept. 1 — they were still in the mood to celebrate as they rallied together with their fellow Virgos.
As for the night’s guests of honor, Wade and Nicole soaked up the celebratory vibes, too.
Zoe shared a cute video of the two birthday girls dancing to a version of Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” that seemed to feature a live band. “This is just perfect and I love you both and could watch this for hours, birthday queens,” the celebrity stylist-turned-designer wrote on her Story.
In the video, Wade and Nicole, along with several other guests, did a coordinated dance to the song from Rihanna’s 2016 album, Anti.
Last month, when Sofia celebrated her birthday, she marked the occasion alongside Nicole — as well as several other famous faces.
She shared a fun TikTok video showing her dancing to Prada’s “Cassö x Raye x D Block Europe” with friend and TikTok star Jake Shane as the two shared a cheers and enjoyed their drinks. In the clip, Nicole appeared onscreen and playfully danced in front of Sofia and Shane as she walked by. “Ringing in 25,” Sofia captioned the post.
On her day, her father, music legend Lionel Richie, posted a sweet message for his youngest child on Instagram as he shared several throwback photos of Sofia.
Nicole also marked her sister’s birthday on Instagram as she shared a funny video on her Story where she hit Sofia on the head with a balloon. In another cute throwback photo, she carried her little sister on her back and wrote, “I love you,” alongside it.
For her birthday on Aug. 30, Diaz also received her fair share of star-studded tributes, including one from her longtime pal Gwyneth Paltrow.
Paltrow, 50, called Diaz “one of the greatest people I know” as she shared a selfie with her on her Instagram Story. She further described the actress as “one of my best, closest, most cherished friends.”
The goop founder then shared the same photo on her feed and wrote, “Happy Birthday to you @camerondiaz my ride or die ????.”
Diaz commented, “All the way to the end Mamms ❣️❣️❣️.”
The Bad Teacher star also received a touching tribute from her husband, Benji Madden, who called her his “queen” as he made a rare return to social media to celebrate her birthday.
“It’s a very Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife, best friend, best partner in everything, ride or die, greatest Mom to our little girl, @Avaline wine boss, family chef, advisor, collaborator and everything else,” the Good Charlotte musician, 44, wrote of his wife. “You do it all. So grateful to have our family and I am one lucky man — I know that seems obvious but it really is nice to say it out loud now and then when you’re feeling it. I love you •forever •always •yours •true love. Happy Birthday Cameron ❤️????.”
Diaz and Madden wed in 2015 and share daughter Raddix, 3. With Nicole married to his brother, Joel Madden, she and Diaz have been sisters-in-law for nearly 10 years.
