J.F. Haden's Espresso Liqueur from Tropical Distillers

In 1902, retired U.S. Army Capt. John J. Haden planted four dozen seedlings of Mulgoba (AKA Mulgova) mangos at his Coconut Grove home.

Today, they're the inspiration behind Tropical Distillers J.F. Haden's small-batch citrus and mango liqueur made with purée from locally grown fruit that fits perfectly into the South Florida spirits scene. Once distilled in Jacksonville, it will soon be produced from the Tropical Distiller's Allapattah distillery set to open in the next few weeks. Once open, the distillery will offer tastings, cocktails, and tours that feature its five-time distilled vodka, Florida botanical gin, Florida white rum, Twin P whiskey, and Allapattah agave spirit. While mangos are certainly tropical, the newest product set to hit shelves next month is J.F. Haden's creator Buzzy Sklar's new Cuban-style espresso liqueur. It uses 100% Arabica beans roasted exclusively for J.F. Haden’s by Per'La in Miami. A cold espresso-proofing process zaps acidity and bitterness, creating a bold colada flavor in every sip.
