The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has quietly resumed her royal duties following the completion of her cancer treatment. In her first work engagement since her recovery, the princess, 42, held a key meeting at Windsor Castle to discuss her early years childhood project.

According to The Telegraph, Kate’s return to work was officially recorded in the Court Circular, which logs the activities of the Royal Family. The entry noted, "The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle."

This meeting marks the start of Kate's gradual return to royal engagements, following her public announcement on Sept. 9 that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment. The princess had first shared the news of her cancer diagnosis on March 22, and during her treatment, she continued to stay updated on her early years project, even working from home when her health allowed.

The early years project, a cornerstone of Kate's royal work, explores the root causes of social challenges such as addiction, family breakdown, and mental health issues, tracing many of these problems back to early childhood experiences. This cause has been a significant focus of the princess's efforts through her role in the Royal Foundation.

Despite her illness, Kate made two public appearances this summer, attending the Trooping the Colour in mid-June and Wimbledon on July 14. Her schedule for the rest of the year remains light, but she is "potentially" expected to attend a Remembrance Sunday service on Nov. 10, and will host her annual carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December. A source told The Telegraph that Kate will participate in royal duties "when she can" and may take on "a light program" or just "a handful" of engagements as she continues her recovery.

In a heartfelt three-minute video shared in early September, filmed at her family's country residence, Anmer Hall, the princess spoke about her journey through cancer treatment. Prince William, 42, and their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, appeared in the clip, providing a glimpse of the family’s support during this challenging time.

"As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment," Kate shared in the video. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."

While the princess is easing back into public life, she emphasized her commitment to remaining focused on staying cancer-free and hinted at undertaking more engagements in the coming months.
