Kim Kardashian is turning heads with a stylish accessory that has a special connection to her daughter North West. On Thursday, Aug. 15, the SKIMS founder was spotted in New York City wearing a seamless turtleneck bodycon dress and matching nude boots, paired with a stunning yellow shearling messenger bag by ERL.
The $1,850 purse, made from "hand-aged shearling leather" and "ethically sourced and handcrafted in California," added a pop of color to her otherwise neutral-toned ensemble. Kardashian completed her look with a nude lip, rosy blush, and soft waves in her hair, styled by her longtime friend and hairstylist Chris Appleton.
The connection between Kardashian's handbag and her daughter North, 11, adds an extra layer of sweetness to her look. North previously wore a custom design by ERL to perform at Disney’s The Lion King live-to-film concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this past May. North, who played Young Simba and sang “I Just Can't Wait to be King," donned a bespoke furry zip-up sweatshirt with a shearling hood, matching shorts, socks, and furry slippers, all designed by ERL.
ERL confirmed their involvement by sharing photos of North's performance outfit on Instagram, which also featured her posing with her mom’s yellow shearling bag and one of the brand’s shearling coats. Just days later, Kardashian was seen posing with some of the same pieces on her own Instagram account, showing that the stylish duo isn't shy about sharing their love for this luxury brand.
In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim opened up about how her parenting style has changed over time. Reflecting on her journey, she admitted to becoming a stricter parent, focusing on setting boundaries for her four children. “I was just being really lenient because it was easier for me," she said in a confessional. "I was like, ‘I can’t. I put my all into like everything else. This has to be my all times a million.'"
Kardashian also shared how she's adapting to the challenges of enforcing new rules at home, despite the inevitable pushback from her kids. “I’m gonna have to go through the hard times of, like, whining and crying of, ‘Why are you changing the rules? I used to have my device all the time.’ I’m like, 'No, it’s gonna be this way.' So I just changed a lot of little things around my house. I’m basically turning into Kourtney and Khloé,” she said, referencing her sisters' more structured approaches to parenting.
As Kardashian continues to balance her high-profile career and motherhood, her fashion choices and evolving parenting style reflect the adaptability and resilience she's known for.
