August 31, 2024 - Lana Del Rey is not one to let rumors fly unchecked. The "Candy Necklace" singer, 39, took to Instagram to address recent speculation surrounding her rumored relationship with Jeremy Dufrene, a Louisiana alligator tour guide.
The buzz began when an Instagram post by Just N Life questioned whether details about the supposed romance were cause for concern. "What’s your take on this developing relationship? Are these new details raising any red flags for you?" read the original caption. Del Rey swiftly responded with a simple yet emphatic, "No."
The post in question featured a screenshot of a social media post, allegedly from Dufrene’s daughter, commenting on her father’s rumored relationship with the singer. The post read: "in regards to my dad and lana from my last few tweets. If there’s any type of update, ill give it to you but for now ive got nothing to give. I barely talk to my dad let alone care about his love life. I’m just shocked WHO he’s dating."
However, Del Rey was quick to debunk the claim, clarifying, "Also, that’s not his daughter on Twitter."
Her comments are still visible, and Just N Life promptly updated their post to reflect Del Rey’s clarifications. The revised caption now reads, "Lana Del Rey has addressed the rumors in our comments section and the Twitter user is not related to her new beau. We’ve also posted a new post reflecting her statements."
The relationship rumors first gained traction when Del Rey and Dufrene were spotted holding hands at the Reading & Leeds Festival in August, where she was headlining. The pair reportedly met in 2019 during a trip Del Rey took to Louisiana. During that visit, Dufrene led a guided swamp tour for the singer and her friends, which she later posted about on Facebook.
Dufrene, a father of three, has two daughters and a son from a previous relationship.
Lana Del Rey’s dating history includes real-life cop and Live PD analyst Sean "Sticks" Larkin, singer Clayton Johnson, and music producer Jack Donoghue. However, it seems that when it comes to her current relationship, the singer is intent on keeping the facts straight, directly addressing speculation as it arises.
