The rapper, born Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, was detained at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, where she was accused of "exporting soft drugs."

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, authorities confirmed her release and stated that Minaj was fined before being allowed to continue her journey. Despite initial claims by police officers of drug possession, Minaj denied the allegations, repeatedly requesting legal representation before complying with authorities and entering a police van.

Minaj, who was en route to Manchester, England, for her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, documented the incident in an Instagram Live video. Subsequent posts on X detailed her perspective, alleging that the arrest was an attempt to sabotage her tour, with claims that individuals were paid to disrupt her success due to jealousy. Additionally, Minaj accused officials of confiscating her belongings without consent and intentionally delaying her to miss her scheduled performance.

The rapper's security team reportedly informed officials about the presence of pre-rolled marijuana in her luggage. Minaj's representatives and the Amsterdam police have not responded to requests for comment.

Minaj's arrest comes amidst ongoing controversies and legal battles surrounding her tour and personal life. Despite these challenges, Minaj remains a prominent figure in the music industry, continuing to navigate her career amidst public scrutiny and legal challenges.
