The Smashing Pumpkins frontman, 56, has tied the knot with his longtime partner Chloe Mendel. Speaking to WGN at the band’s celebration of the 30th anniversary of their album Siamese Dream, Corgan revealed that he and Mendel got married on Saturday.
His good news came as he hosted a pop-up shop and performed a special acoustic concert at Madame Zuzu’s — a tea shop, vegan restaurant and performance space in Highland Park, Illinois, that Corgan and Mendel co-own.
According to WGN, the celebrations included two concerts that recreated the group's 1993 release party at Tower Records. There was also updated band merchandise and vinyl records available.
This is the second marriage for Corgan, who was briefly married to art conservator Chris Fabian between 1993 to 1995.
He and Mendel, 31, have been together since 2012 and got engaged in September 2022 on Mendel’s 30th birthday. "The day finished with a wedding proposal," Mendel’s Instagram caption at the time read. "Of course I said yes ❤️."
Mendel is the creative director and co-founder of fashion brand Maison Atia, a luxury outerwear brand. Her father is Gilles Mendel, the French atelier and designer and CEO of the luxury fashion brand J. Mendel, which has been in the Mendel family for five generations.
She and Corgan share daughter Philomena, 5 in October, and 7½-year-old son Augustus.
Earlier this month, Corgan opened up about touring with his two children for ten days without Mendel. "As to the two humans beside me in this photo, I had them on this tour for about 10 days without assistance other than tour staff (thank you!) who’d keep them safe for those two hours on stage; otherwise they were my ‘problem’ to sort morning-noon-and night," Corgan wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
In the photo, Corgan posed with two peace signs as his two children stood on the bench he was sitting on and wrapped their arms around him.
